After viewing Rice University today I was left with little to do. Luckily I found something. I realized that I never published the screen saver that I made for Redwood last year. So I decided to put it online. The mac version that I am making available is functionally equivalent to the Windows version that is currently running in the main labs at Redwood.
Description: It starts up and grabs games played by Redwood students at school. They are then played on the faces of a cube in three dimensions. Much cooler than the original! You can do all sorts of fun things. Press F8 or 8 to see the available controls.
<SECRET> If you press ‘n’ you may actually be able to play on the first face </SECRET>
It is certainly not the most exciting screen saver in the world, but it is more interactive than most. Without further introduction, here was my programming 3 project. Nibbles 3D.saver.zip
Just for kicks I’l also make available a custom version that runs as normal application. The cool part is that it is in a completely transparent window. I think transparent 3D windows have a lot of unexplored potential in OS X. This is not really meant to be a program you use more than once, but it does look cool. Nibbles 3D_Standalone.zip to download. Or just look closely at the picture bellow.
